Why I Built Genie-us

A year ago, I was working on a project where AI wasn't allowed because it couldn't be trusted to consistently deliver reliable work.

Every other week, there seemed to be another story about AI supporting dangerous decisions, hallucinating facts in legal briefs, exposing sensitive information, or costing organizations time, money, and trust. If you couldn't trust the output, you couldn't put it in front of senior leadership.

The problem was, I needed the capacity AI could provide. I needed to build financial models, pitch decks, strategic frameworks, and deliver high-quality work to a team that was counting on me. I just needed a way to use AI safely.

So, for about a year, every night after work, I researched and wrote the code that became Genie-us.

I wasn't trying to start a software company.

I was simply solving my own problem.

My premise was simple. If I handed a memo, a framework, or a presentation to senior leadership, they had to be able to read it with confidence. If there was ever a mistake, it should be mine, not AI's.

As I kept building, I realized I wasn't the only one with this problem. Scrolling my timeline every day made that clear.

I still didn't know what to call what I had built.

It wasn't another chatbot.

It wasn't an AI assistant.

It wasn't a workflow tool.

So I asked some friends to use it.

I asked them what it did for them, and the response was consistent.

They said it gave them clarity.

It felt like a co-creator, helping them get meaningful work done. Instead of simply answering questions, it helped them orient themselves inside the work itself. They were completing tasks in days that had previously taken weeks.

That's when it clicked.

I hadn't built another AI product.

I'd built something that helps people find clarity in an environment that's moving faster than our ability to understand it.

An operating system that helps people orient themselves inside AI environments.

That's where the name came from.

Orientation Engine.

Today, Genie-us exists to help people safely use AI, strengthen human judgment, and produce work they can stand behind.

I'm sharing what I built because I don't think most people need another AI tool.

They need a trusted way to operate using AI so they can spend less time learning the technology and more time producing work with it.

That is the work of Genie-us Software: helping people use AI with more clarity, stronger judgment, and results they can stand behind.
